Forstify is a platform for forest owners, timber buyers, sellers and traders that digitises the following steps of the timber-trade value chain: digital timber measurement, wood data management, wood marketing and wood purchasing.

What Forstify does

With digital timber measurement, Forstify offers efficient and reliable volume determination. Regardless of the size, location or ground conditions of a log pile, anyone with a modern smartphone or tablet can take precise section-volume measurements (to RVR standards) — without tools, tape measure or reference marks, in just a few minutes and in real time.

All key information — quantities, photos, assortment details and location data for wood lists — can be captured digitally with wood data management. Access can be granted to business partners with a single click, and the data is available from anywhere. Digital wood lists can also be imported and exported as PDF, Excel or ELDAT.

Sellers reach new customers and partners through the Forstify platform. Logs, industrial wood or energy wood can be offered felled or as standing sales; sellers receive enquiries and price offers and choose the best price. Through matchmaking they get push notifications as soon as matching requests come in — this is Forstify’s digital wood marketing.

For digital wood purchasing, buyers benefit from the same matchmaking process, which finds offers matching their published requests. Suitable logs, industrial or energy wood can be found in any region and quantity — locally or worldwide. Thanks to RVR criteria, distance and photos, this is quick and easy.

Forstify offers a comprehensive range of forestry services — from advice and planning to harvesting, skidding and transport of raw timber. Alongside its own projects, e.g. in Thuringia or southern Bavaria, Forstify also supports other service providers and brokers work within its partner network.

Two founders from the Sauerland

The marketing of raw timber has changed considerably in recent years. To meet this and other challenges, Forstify — a startup from Arnsberg in the Sauerland — has been developing digital solutions for forestry since 2018.
