Forstify expands its service to Austria

“We're delighted to be able to offer our service beyond Germany,” explains Marco Hartmann, Managing Director and co-founder of Forstify. In Austria too, the task of gaining an overview of the market and achieving fair prices and treatment is often only possible to a limited extent.

Through the internet platform – which works like a marketplace and uses common standards for classifying timber – it is easy to quickly and conveniently view offers, prices and demand in your area. At the same time, Forstify also gives Austrian forest owners and forest management associations (WWG) the ability to import timber data via ELDAT (and other formats), create their own wood lists, and publish them as listings on the marketplace with a single click.

“We also buy beetle-damaged timber directly when our customers want us to,” Marco Hartmann adds. Foresters in Austria report that established organisations, too, would welcome support with marketing – above all to harness market competition for their benefit and achieve better prices on the market.
