Forstify now available in Switzerland

Whether stem and industrial timber or beetle-damaged wood – with Forstify, marketing is possible in just a few clicks.
Forstify is an online marketplace accessible via app or website. Whether forest owner, forest management association (FBG), forestry operation or marketing organisation: users can post offers quickly and easily or respond to buyers' requests. Buyers, in turn, can use a convenient proximity search to find exactly the timber offer they need at a particular time; the platform follows common standards for defining raw timber. A special feature for timber buyers: via so-called requests, a specific need for a certain quantity of timber can be communicated, which raw-timber suppliers can then apply to fulfil.
“However, we offer not just a platform but also direct purchasing of certain timber, to support forest owners in processing damaged wood,” Marco Hartmann continues. “It is important to us to build sustainable business relationships with our users, customers and suppliers,” Hartmann adds. For this reason, a friendly approach to foresters and fair payment are an elementary part of the cooperation.

Since its founding, the raw-timber marketing provider Forstify has offered cross-border services in the form of a web platform and apps for smartphone and tablet. The founding team around Marco Hartmann and Christian Kaulich has now grown to 15 team members and consists of commercial, forestry and technical experts alike. In addition to the platform's existing features – such as automatic notifications for matching listings, a proximity search or available requests – new offerings are also planned for the future. These include a solution for fair settlement in timber trading within the app, as well as consulting and service offerings around raw-timber sales.
