New feature at Forstify: trader functionality for everyone!

“In conversations with our users, we found that both searching for offers and the ability to post offers are equally interesting for many users,” says Marco Hartmann, co-founder and Managing Director of Forstify. This is now also technically possible. Whether buyer or supplier of timber, everyone can now create timber offers and requests and send contact enquiries when interested. The management of company data has also been unified in this way.

In addition to the offers for raw-timber buyers, Forstify has added another feature: posting requests. “It makes sense to give raw-timber buyers the opportunity to post their needs so that raw-timber suppliers can then make them offers,” explains co-founder Christian Kaulich, responsible for the platform's technical development.

More transparency for suppliers and buyers

Because users can offer and buy at the same time, greater transparency also arises. It becomes easier for one user group to understand the perspective of the other and to prepare and present offers accordingly – for instance by choosing suitable photos. Among the features now available to both groups are, in addition to the pure marketplace function, the proximity search and the creation of wood lists through the automatic import of data from other programs. Further features, such as a function for measuring timber, are already being planned.

The update is available now; users of the web application need do nothing further, while users of the smartphone or tablet apps simply need to update to the latest version of the software – if this does not happen automatically. On iOS devices this is possible via the App Store, on Android devices via the Play Store.
