Taking advantage of rising demand for raw timber

From our own experience in direct purchasing and the marketing of beetle-damaged timber, we can report that we can, in principle, buy any quantity of raw timber in these areas. At the same time, the experiences that forest owners and forest management associations share with us are often negative. Despite the market situation that is evidently attractive for raw-timber suppliers, there seem to be recurring misunderstandings and challenges in the handling of raw-timber transfers. Communication is unfriendly to gruff, and payment behaviour is unreliable. An encounter as equals does not take place. That said, there are of course also raw-timber buyers in Germany and abroad who conduct business reliably and reputably.

Opportunities for fair raw-timber marketing

But when even the Tagesschau reports on the raw-timber shortage and trade media such as agrarheute address the topic intensively, the question remains why buyers' behaviour barely adapts and changes. “From our experience, raw-timber buyers can achieve good prices on the market while treating their suppliers fairly, and thus build long-term and successful business relationships,” explains Marco Hartmann, one of our founders.
